    A 20 minute drive away from the Lodge on the Desert - this is a good option if you’d like to golf or check out their lazy river pool more on the outskirts of town.

    The Hotel is known for being the site of the capture of gangster and bank robber John Dillinger in 1934.

    Note: This does not have a pool, but does have character.

Where to travel?

We recommend flying into Phoenix Airport, PHX, which is a 90 minute drive away from Tucson.

From there, you can either rent a car or take the GROOME shuttle directly to Lodge on the Desert (about $60 per adult 1 way, direct drop off to lodge).

We do think having a rental car is valuable if you’re interested in hiking and seeing the desert.
